A rare route into company leadership through the lab, not around it. Take technical charge of an accredited Swiss calibration laboratory across five measurement domains, and grow into the Managing Director seat within a few years.

The role

As Technical Director / Deputy MD you lead the calibration laboratories, safeguard the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and act as deputy to the CEO. You report directly to the Group CEO, are based on-site in Quartino, and step progressively into full management of the company.

Your tasks

  • Lead and develop the calibration laboratories across dimensional, pressure, torque, force and electrical
  • Safeguard ISO/IEC 17025 compliance and the SAS accreditation, including internal and external audits and the accreditation-body relationship
  • Validate measurement methods, build uncertainty budgets (GUM) and approve calibration certificates
  • Set priorities, develop the technical team, and solve the problems the technicians cannot
  • Work with the CEO on strategy and grow into the Managing Director role

Your profile

  • Degree in engineering or physics, or equivalent, with experience running technical operations
  • In-depth ISO/IEC 17025 knowledge and the ability to build uncertainty budgets (GUM)
  • Proven experience leading technical or laboratory teams
  • Fluent Italian and German, plus English (all three required); French is a plus
  • Advanced Excel, including formulas, automation and macros
  • An advantage: accredited-lab experience, CMM-3D, LIMS, or metrology training (METAS, PTB, SAS)
